Beta Tau Chapter Structure

The Beta Tau Chapter is governed by its members. The Beta Tau Chapter Structure is composed of elected undergraduate officers and adult volunteers that support the chapter. Chapter officers are elected annually that administer and execute the programs, activities, and operations of the chapter. These officers comprise the Executive Board. The Chapter Officers and their responsibilities are as follows:

Beta Tau Chapter Structure

  • Chapter President-The Chapter President is the chief executive officer of the chapter, chairman of the Executive Board, and is responsible for the creation and implementation of the chapter’s Strategic Plan. He regularly communicates directly with University officials and the International Fraternity’s Central Office. He is chairman of all chapter meetings.
  • Vice President-The Vice President is chairman of the Administrative Board. The Administrative Board is comprised of many committee chairmen who are tasked to execute or administer certain external programs or events such as community service and social. The Vice President becomes Chapter President if the Chapter President is no longer able to proceed.
  • Director of Finances-The Director of Finances is chairman of the Finance Board and is responsible for developing and implementing the chapter’s budget, collecting rent and dues, and paying chapter expenses.
  • Director of Member Development-The Director of Member Development is tasked with planning and implementing the chapter’s member development program. This program provides members with skills training, cultural knowledge, and career development to guide them to a life of excellence. The Member Development Director is also chairman of the Member Development Board which is composed of committee chairmen tasked with executing and administering the chapter’s internal events and programs such as brotherhood events.
  • Director of Academic Affairs-The Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for creating and administering the chapter’s academic program. Some of his responsibilities include developing academic support programs for members who have fallen below our academic expectation standards, rewarding members with superior academic achievements, and communicating academic resources available on campus.
  • Director of Ritual Education-The Director of Ritual Education is tasked with creating the chapter’s Ritual education program. This program explores the fraternity’s ceremonies in more depth and relates our values to everyday life. He is also responsible for organizing practice sessions for the performance of our ceremonies.
  • Director of New Member Education-The Director of New Member Education is responsible for implementing the Fraternity’s new member program which provides new members with information concerning the fraternity and university, the first review of our fraternity values and mission, and peer mentoring.
  • Director of Standards-The Director of Standards is chairman of the Honor Board which is the chapter’s discipline and judicial body. When a member does not abide by our expectations on conduct, academics, or other attributes, the member goes before the Honor Board to determine a resolution.
  • Director of Communications-The Director of Communications takes minutes at all chapter and board meetings, administers the chapter’s social media presence, and coordinates gifts and recognition to sororities, university officials, fraternity members, and other fraternities and students.
  • Director of New Member Education-The Director of New Member Education is responsible for implementing the fraternity’s 6-week new member education program, developing the peer mentor program, and facilitating weekly new member meetings and activities.
  • Director of Risk Education-The Director of Risk Education reviews all chapter-sponsored events to determine their safety and to limit as much risk and liability as possible. This director is also responsible for educating members on the Fraternity’s “Member Responsibility Guidelines”, our behavioral expectations and policies, and coordinates and schedules additional educational programming on risk issues such as hazing prevention, bystander training, and sexual assault prevention.
  • Director of Shelter Management-The Director of Shelter Management is tasked with coordinating our cleaning program, dining service, and repair of the Shelter. He works with our alumni Housing Corporation to determine renovation plans and conducts room checks to determine damage to the Shelter.

Adult and Professional Support

The Beta Tau Chapter also has the benefit of support from adults who are tasked to advise and educate our officers and members.

House Mother

As University Approved Housing, we have a house parent who resides in the Shelter year round with the undergraduate members. Connie Wilson is the current House Mother and has been in that role since 2017. Her prior career was as a flight attendant and has many wonderful stories about her time in the air. Connie provides that motherly presence for our members. She attends our nightly dinners and Parent and Alumni events. Connie is a good resource if you want to know how your son is enjoying college.

Chapter Advisor

Ryan Caldwell is an alumnus from our University of Nebraska-Kearney chapter and has been our chapter advisor since 2005. He is responsible for advising chapter officers on fraternity programming and policies, facilitates chapter and Executive Board retreats, facilitates goal setting, conducts a variety of member development education, and provides advanced Fraternity history and Ritual education for the chapter. Professionally, Ryan owns his own law firm in Lincoln.

House Corporation

The House Corporation is the legal owner of the Delt House. It is comprised of a variety of alumni who serve as the Board of Directors. The House Corporation coordinates move-in/move-out dates, small and large renovations, capital campaigns to raise funds for large renovations, and provides general maintenance of the facility.

Delta Tau Delta Central Office

The Central Office is the administrative arm of Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. It is headquartered in Fishers, Indiana outside of Indianapolis. Its staff provides support through educational resources, programming, and dedicated chapter support coordinators assigned to the chapter to evaluate and guide chapters.

February’s Delt of the Month is Colin Mahon! Colin February’s Delt of the Month is Colin Mahon! Colin is a junior Business Administration major originally from Mission Viejo, CA. After graduation, he plans to return home to California to pursue a career as a commercial real estate broker. Over the years Colin has served as Internal Vice President and is the current Director of New Member Education. His favorite Delt memory was during fall break of his sophomore year when he traveled to Indiana for the Husker game. Colin spends his free time playing golf and attempting to win a game of pool at the shelter.

January’s Delt of the Month is Tyler Johnson! Orig January’s Delt of the Month is Tyler Johnson! Originally from Richmond, VA, Tyler is currently in his junior year studying Civil Engineering. After graduation, he plans to return to the East Coast to pursue a career in coastal engineering. In his free time, he enjoys spending time at the beach and listening to Led Zeppelin. Over the past three years Tyler has served as External Vice President and currently as President. One of his favorite memories in the chapter is MASH last spring. Congratulations Tyler!

Over the past two weeks, we’ve welcomed Dr. Jeffre Over the past two weeks, we’ve welcomed Dr. Jeffrey Gold and Jack Kreman to the chapter facility to speak to the members of Beta Tau. 

Dr. Jeffrey Gold, President of Nebraska Systems, delivered a speech about the challenges and opportunities that arise in the professional world and provided an update on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Gold’s inspiring story is a story of self-belief and embarking on new adventures.

Jack Kreman (Theta Kappa ‘04), CEO of Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity, spoke to the chapter about what it means to be a Nebraska Delt and how to live a life of excellence. Mr. Kreman is a common face around Beta Tau and provides hands-on leadership to the chapter. #rahdelt
Last week, Beta Tau hosted our annual Alumni Weeke Last week, Beta Tau hosted our annual Alumni Weekend! Thanks to all alumni who were a part of the annual golf outing, alumni tailgate, and scholarship ceremony. Owen Greder received the Ben Neff (‘54) Beta Tau Scholarship and Colin Mahon received the Beta Tau Leaders Scholarship for exhibiting great leadership! Congratulations, gentlemen!

August’s Delt of the Month is Nate Poole! Nate is August’s Delt of the Month is Nate Poole! Nate is a junior majoring in biochemistry from Omaha, Nebraska. Nate currently serves as the President of Beta Tau and has previously held the position of Director of House and Grounds. Nate spends every waking moment answering emails and phone calls about the house. Some of Nate’s favorite memories include his trip to Cleveland for Karnea and his freshman year trip to St. Louis with his class. Congratulations, Nate!!

July’s Delt of the Month is Tyler Frisinger! Tyler July’s Delt of the Month is Tyler Frisinger! Tyler is from Waconia, Minnesota, and is entering his senior year at Nebraska. Tyler is studying Computer Science with a minor in Math. Tyler has spent his summer as a Software Engineering Intern at North Star Imaging, integrating software to improve customer feedback. Also, Tyler is a Founding Engineer of TasksMind, an AI Chief of Staff. TasksMind is designed to give leaders instant situational awareness and mitigate the risk of losing tasks. During his time in Beta Tau, Tyler has enjoyed going to the Ozarks Formal in his sophomore year and tailgating before football games at the Union. Tyler has served as the Treasurer from 2023-2024 and was a part of the Academic Team for Beta Tau. Congratulations, Tyler!!!
This week marks 5 years since the passing of our b This week marks 5 years since the passing of our brother, Luke Weiland (Beta Tau 2018). To know Luke was to love Luke. The joy, happiness, kindness, and openness that radiated off of Luke bettered the lives of everyone around him. Wherever he went, his personality touched those around him. This week is a week to remember as we celebrate our brother, Luke Weiland. He will remain in the hearts of all Beta Tau men today, and always.

June’s Delt of the Month is Jacob Zambreno! Jacob June’s Delt of the Month is Jacob Zambreno! Jacob is from Downers Grove, Illinois, and will be a senior next year. Jacob is an Environmental Engineering student and is spending his summer as a Civil Engineering Intern with Kimley-Horn. Jacob has served Beta Tau throughout his first three years in numerous ways, most recently as Director of Academics from 2023-2024. His favorite memories are M*A*S*H and golfing before chapter with his class. Jacob plans to pursue a career in engineering consulting upon graduation in Spring ‘26. Congratulations, Jacob!!! #rahrah

May’s Delt of the Month is Ian Saunders! Ian is a May’s Delt of the Month is Ian Saunders! Ian is a Finance and Accounting major from Fargo, North Dakota. Ian has most recently served as our FAAR chair from 2023-2024. Ian’s favorite memories in Beta Tau are hanging out with his Beta Tau family every semester and his trips to Mexico with his class.
